Tagline For Industrial Company

We are a newly merged northern industrial distribution company located throughout 5 provinces. We mostly tailor to the forestry, mining and oil & gas industries selling tools, safety products, janitorial products, etc. For our customers in isolated areas with crucial deadlines and harsh climates, time is of the essence. We want to portray the strength of a large cooperation with a mama and papa store friendliness /know how. Our company attributes are: reliable, knowledgeable, easy to work with. How do we reflect this in a compact tagline?

What makes us different is that we will strive to find the product the customer needs in a timely fashion. We know exactly what the customer wants, how quickly they need it, and who to direct them too if we don’t have it. Hence, we are a reliable source of information. The geographical locations of our branches are a plus since mining, forestry, oil & gas industries are almost all in isolated locations. Transportation to some of these locations are constricted since the area freezes over (ice roads). 98% of our customers are men who need a product (tool piece, etc.) as fast as possible to be able to continue with their job. Our customers do like the friendly ,laid back but savy service our counter salespeople have.

Making My Business More Known

I have set up a small business in South Africa that helps overlander travelers. These are people who travel usually from Europe down either the East or West coasts of Africa to Cape Town. When arriving here they may want to store their vehicle, ship it home or just need a place to crash for a while. There are not a great amount of people doing this but I believe in time this number will increase.

I have opened the business and now I need to get people through the door, I have a website (www.africanoverlanders.com) which I have paid for some SEO services for and I am now very high in the rankings on my keywords. I have a facebook page (Africanoverlanders) which I post things happening, offers and encourage members to post on it, like a difficulty with a border crossing etc. I also ask other owners of facebook pages if I can advertise on their page. I have posters up in other campsites around the continent.

I have now come to the end of my small pot of marketing skills. I don’t have a huge budget but does anybody have any other ideas how I can promote my company further. Any ideas at all would be welcome so that I know I am doing as much as possible.

###

Jay’s Answer: Since you have Google Analytics installed, what have you learned – are you getting traffic (especially from the keywords you’ve targeted) and not getting any people contacting you or are you not getting sufficient traffic?

Looking at your home page, it’s not until your last paragraph do you detail what your visitor would care about. Why not link from some of these words (campsite, accommodation, storage, etc.) to your inner pages.

Why not have a link to a map of where you’re located and also list yourself using free services such as: http://www.google.com/places/)?

Finally, make it more obvious how to contact you – put your contact information in your banner and/or footer of your pages.

Looking For A Tagline For Design Company

So I have a multimedia/design company in the works called BUNCH or BUNCH Media. However, I am having difficulty coming up with a catchy tag line that describes what we are. Some of the tag lines were: Fresh Media, Collective Fresh Media, and Your fresh source for media. It should try to describe that we can deliver new ideas to the customer and it is all types of multimedia that we can deliver. I would really appreciate any ideas.

###

Jay’s Answer: It’s assumed that a multimedia/design company will deliver new ideas. To start with, instead of Bunch Media, why not Bunch Multimedia? That’ll tell about your multimedia offerings. Next, who specifically are you hoping to attract? Where are they located? What will make you the “right” choice for them? How do you know? What your prospective clients are looking for is multimedia that attracts new customers (i.e., more than pays for itself), not simply “something fresh”.

Mattress Sales Headline

There is a furniture company, focused in the Northeast, that within the last few years has expanded their mattress selection. They carry all the big “S” brands plus some memory foams. We are trying to come up with some verbiage on an 8X11 display that will draw the customer into the mattress gallery. The sign would be going on vignettes (sofa, loveseat and chair), probably on the end table…any help/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Naming Our Park Volunteer Program

I am the marketing manager for a city park department. We are in the middle of a complete reorganization of our volunteer and donation program. As a piece of our launch into new collaborative ways of doing business – focused on more park adoptions and long range partnerships with organizations and businesses – we are updating our branding package including a new name. This is where I need your help!

There are some words that seem to resonate, but I have yet to put them together in a concise way that sings “I’m the one!” We even have a tagline that we like, yet still can’t land on a name: “Connecting People, Places and Open Spaces.” Words we are drawn to include Connect, Team, Network, Action, Stewards, Partnerships, People Powered, and Friends

We have had several lively discussions on our team and have narrowed down the unique personality of our program. And yes, as it turns out … she is a she…

“She is a casual professional who is contagiously enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Her approachable manner inspires her community to connect with each other and the outdoors. She makes you feel good and want more.”

We also named her Sage. In addition to the obvious color association, this name connotes wisdom, a philosophical/spiritual mentor, seasoning (definitely not bland), plants (including native to the region), and magical properties. It directly complements the our division’s tagline – Keeping “city name” Green. We now have the filter “What would Sage do?” to keep us focused and true to our intent.

To further dig into our program’s personality we even envisioned what she would drive:

Hybrid Ford Escape 4WD
– Burgundy color with tan “pleather” interior
– Sporty and stylish but not in-your-face flashy
– Features a tow package and off road tires with a bit of mud on the fenders
– Well maintained, though not spotless
– 54,000 miles
– Equipped with a smart phone, GPS and a rockin’ sound system
– A bumper sticker that reads: I Love My Park
– Trunk filled with: Emergency and first aid kit, a diamond plate tool box filled with things like tools, shovel, vest, cones, measuring wheel, marking paint, rain gear, boots, waders, and a Carhart jacket. A camera and some scraps and garbage leftover from recent events.

Jay’s Answer: I’m not sure how much you’re using Sage as internally focused exercise or how much you want to share Sage with the public. If the latter, consider:

  • WWSD? (What Would Sage Do?)
  • Color Me Sage
  • I Am Sage

Need Help With A Tagline For Realtor In Phoenix

I’m looking for help coming up with a catchy (not cheesy) tagline for my real estate business. I work in Phoenix, AZ and focus on golf course communities. I work with both buyers and sellers so I can’t have it focused on either group. Last name is Daly so I’m trying to bring that into play if possible as well.

  • Serving the Golfing Life…Daly.
  • Specializing In Golf Course Communities…Daly.

How to Start Our Event Company?

We are a group of young graduates and we want to start an Event Management company in Mauritius. We will organise receptions of weddings, anniversaries, cocktail parties and other events. We are targeting only high profile people: individuals and corporate. Can you give me some idea about how we can proceed?

###

Jay’s Answer: Start with a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis to see how your proposed company would fit into the existing social “scene” in Mauritius. How would your company be better/different from the existing competition? What groups of people aren’t served (well)?

Next, realize that individuals and corporate clients have very different needs, and therefore you’ll need different marketing to communicate to each group. Better to focus on either individuals or corporate clients (at first) to make it easier to get known for that niche.

Lastly, unless you will also be creating a venue for the parties, introduce yourselves to existing venues that are rented for parties/events by your target audience. Find out their needs, and find out how you can partner with them.

Rebrand Construction Company

I run a small construction / renovation company. We specialize in the higher end of the market. Most of our work comes through referrals, but I’d like to advertise on occasion, to fill in the slower periods. We take care of everything for our clients, design, permit acquisition and of course the construction. I want to convey an image of boutique service. Help me create a new image! Company name… logo image… tagline… suggestions?

###

Jay’s Answer: First, why change your name? Presumably you’ve been in business awhile (since most of your work comes from referrals) – why lose the name that people remember you by?

Next, what does “boutique service” mean for your company? What services do you (now) do that you haven’t before? How do you differ from other companies? Design, permits, etc. are the normal way construction companies (at least those I’m familiar with) operate in my area.

Are people paying more for “boutique service”? Rather than focus on the service, focus on the results. Focus on the overjoyed clients who love your work that came in under budget and early. Focus on the energy saving design or award-winning designs.

Name my Zimbabwe Women’s Store

I’m opening up an international store that caters to woman, we got shoes, clothes, hair, skin and beauty products. i need a catchy classy and sexy name. the store is located in Harare Zimbabwe and in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, but its an online store as well. age range is 18-50+. we have skin care products for all skin types, hair extensions, wigs and weaves, sexy and classy clothes, shoes and accessories, diet pills and solution gels.

###

Jay’s Answer: (Aside: Women who are 20 are unlikely to be interested in products that cater to 40 year-olds, and the same’s true for 40 and 60 year-old women. Your age range is too wide to effectively interest “all women between 18-50+”. Furthermore, not everyone will have the same skin needs, hair needs, clothing needs, etc.)

As for a name, it should appeal to prospective customers in your region. If you’re unsure what would appeal – start talking to women in your area and asking them for advice. Here’s a suggestion to also consider: “Internationally Lovely”.
