New Pediatric Dental Practice

I am starting a new pediatric dental practice in Louisiana and need some suggestions for a name. Initially I will be the only provider, but plan to expand in the future. The area I will be practicing in is very traditional and conservative, so I’d like the name to reflect that. The name of the city is already taken in another dental practice’s business name.

Brand Name For My Automobile Services

I am from India and I am starting a venture in Automobile sector. It will cater to all the vehicles from cars, bikes, Buses, trucks, etc. The service will be dealing with health and looks of the vehicle. I had thought of name MotoAvatar, but I guess its already taken. I require your suggestions for deciding a appropriate name which depicts the health and look of a vehicle and it should not be specific to one vehicle like- CarAvatar, etc as we are dealing with entire automobile industry.

Jay’s Answer: How about MotoMazing.com or MotoTransform.com? Both are available.

Tagline Required For Reiki/Listening Therapy Business

I have chosen the name Revive and Restore for my Reiki healing and counselling therapy practice based in UK (East Anglia). I now seek a tagline which enhances the following mission statement: I work with women who struggle to maintain equilibrium in their busy lives. You may run your own business, have a challenging job , be a busy mum juggling work and family life or recovering from a relationship breakdown or divorce.

I’m concentrating on the stress management approach for women only (at this stage) and want to move away from the holistic flowery, spiritual, candle approach that is commonly seen on most Reiki websites. I use a powerful combination of Reiki healing therapy, listening therapy and counselling, and work with clients to bring them back to balance and to live a much more harmonious life, free from anxiety and the pressures of a busy and demanding life. I came up with “Helping women who feel stressed and unsupported” ………. and then I got stuck!

Gift Basket Service Tagline

I want to start a gift basket business. The name I chose is “Care Bundles.” I am requesting help coming up with a tag line. I plan to focus on situations, not occasions. For example, instead of making baskets for birthdays or holidays, I’d make them geared towards people who are caregivers and need a pick-me-up. Or mothers of preemies – the basket would include little treats and helpful items. I’m also planning on using as many hand-made items as I can find… maybe some teas, but in general, no food. I plan on spending a considerable amount of time looking for just the right items to include. Almost like curating, but for gifts :-)

Target audience would be adult women. This will not be a brick and mortar store for now (although that would be a dream for the future!) but home-based. I wanted to market these to hospital gift shops, craft malls, Ebay for exposure. If that goes well, I’d expand to selling them from my website.

I liked “take the guessing out of giving (or gifting)” but after Googling it, noticed that was pretty much the title of every gift guide ever published. I’m really no good at coming up with stuff like this. I hope I’ve provided enough info for you to help me!

Tagline Referencing Policing Career History

I have a new Mortgage broking business targeting home loans, refinances and consolidation mortgages. I have a local focus with the name of Hawkesbury Mortgage Solutions. currently working on the website. I am looking to incorporate my history of being a Police Officer for 24 years in the tagline and marketing. Honesty, integrity, trust are important maybe some humour in future marketing…. I will be targeting Police as clients and that is basis for the ‘cute’ marketing later. There is also the local market I am looking for via the web. Basically anyone requiring a home loan or investment property loan. Most people will approach a few brokers before settling on one or go by word of mouth. So the object is to hold their attention with my core values. There has been negative press about dishonest brokers.

Need Name And Tagline

Handcrafted sterling silver and copper jewelry, will be selling on etsy or ebay. My first name is an unusual one, which is hard for people to remember. Should I shorten it to LEE or use initials LCM? Tagline Handcrafted jewelry with a personal touch??

Jay’s Answer: Why not name your business “Handcrafted Jewelry By Lee”? Then your tagline could be more specific “Sterling & Copper Made With a Personal Touch”.

Fresh Idea To Execute A Celebrity Inauguration

The age old format of directly says that this celebrity is coming to inaugurate a shop, leveraging on the celebrities reach to his target audience though tried and tested to be effective needs to be broken. I am stuck and are presenting in 2 days time a fresh idea on how an inauguration campaign can be done with same results for a jewelery shop. this campaign will be run for a week in radio and print. Flash mob was an innovative idea when it came to branding…i am looking for inspirations there is no specific USP for the brand, rather it has everything that caters to a typical middle class Indian’s appetite for gold. its located in the heart of town around 300,000 families, easily accessible by metro, transport bus and taxi. unfortunately nothing makes them special/different from others. middle class Indians especially south Indians. why they would come can be the offers provided on that day.

Jay’s Answer: If there’s no restrictions – give away your jewelry. Your celebrity could judge a (look-alike, dance, talent, etc.) contest with the prizes the jewelry. Livecast the event, and also have people at home vote for their favorites using phone/website.

Marketing: Don’t Bet Against The House

Marketing Playing The Odds

You just had a brainstorm of an idea. It’s obviously a winner, and yet no one has seen what you’ve seen. So before you bet everything on this “sure-thing”, here’s what you might want to do.

1) Identify who will pay you NOW for what you’re planning. Not who might be interested. Not who might give you some money. Who will eagerly pay you cash for your new idea? You might say, “But if I tell people what my brilliant idea is, someone is likely to steal it from me!” While it’s possible, it’s quite unlikely. Ideas are the easy part. Putting the ideas into action is the hard part. Warning #1: You are having trouble identifying prospective customers.

2) Identify what your prospective customers buying today. If you’re thinking that your new business’s success is based on stealing customers from the established leader – be careful. The “old guys” may be myopic, but they are likely fierce competitors with more resources that you have. Warning #2: You are betting against the house – and the house wins over the long run.

3) What can you do that others simply can’t? If you’re planning to attack a market leader (see step #2), identify what you can do that clearly doesn’t fit with their business model. If they sell to Fortune 100, then target smaller businesses. If they only handle big projects, then specialize with small projects. Can you add personal value-added services? Warning #3: You are planning to do something similar to your competition, but with a slight twist.

4) How can you build a network that trusts you? If you don’t have a strong network already, build it first. You’ll need to leverage them when you have something ready to market. Then, start to ask questions, listen to their answers, and learn from the dialogue. Building a trusted network takes time. Warning #4: Your marketing strategy is “If I build it, people will find me and want to buy from me.”

5) Test your big idea in smaller pieces. If what you’re planning hasn’t been done before, odds are it’ll take a considerable amount of your resources. So, instead of building the “final product” first, build a small version of it. Call it an “alpha test”. Can you get people interested enough in trying it? Can you get people interested enough to pay for it in its current state? Many successful companies started with a “big idea” and during their testing of the “small pieces” discovered that the “big idea” wasn’t that marketable, but their “small piece” was applicable to a different problem. Warning #5: You can’t break down your big idea into small chunks.

If you’re starting a new business or initiative and see that no one else has staked their claim – you could be a genius or an idiot. Don’t be the last one to figure out which you are.
