Dubai Jewelry Business Name For B2B And B2C

I am  looking to set up showroom and office in Dubai, UAE and website for Online sales . The business will be B2b and B2C and mainly consist of Gold, platinum, silver jewelry with Diamond and real color stones. I want to have some catchy name which is easy to remember ,good for online marketing (meaning not too long) and at the same time should imply what the business is about. I was thinking about Nirup Jewels from my sons name but not quiet satisfied.

###

Jay’s Answer: Nirup Jewels won’t mean anything to most people. That’s not a good or bad thing, but basically a blank slate. The magical “catchy name” that everyone remembers the first time they hear it, and is recalled instantly when someone needs jewelry is a fantasy.

If you’re looking for a name for B2C, you’d want something that appeals to your target market (which is…?). If you’re looking for a name for B2B, you’d probably want something a bit more “corporate” (such as: Dubai Diamonds).

How To Sell More Artwork?

Moving a client from looking to buying……even if they really like the work…have come to the studio also……take up 2 hours of me showing and them asking………all fine but then………… I hear    “My mother recently had an operation and a part of my salary is going for that”….etc……….sure that can be and probably is true……….but …….My question is how I can better ‘screen’ clients in order to make more on target choices of those that will buy before I set myself up for another song and dance?  I think I need to get to the question; is this the time for you to buy?  sooner. ……..without turning them off if they are not ready.  What do you think?
I had a good day of networking at a recent art fair a couple of weekends ago. Will it translate into badly needed sales? ???????

###

Jay’s Answer:The mistake many people make is not prequalifying the customer.

For example:

  • Do you collect art?
  • What type?
  • How often?
  • How choose? What do you look for?
  • What’s your annual budget for purchasing?
  • Where do you keep your art (home / office)?
  • Are you looking to fill a space with art? Dimensions? Lighting?

The key is you want to interview your customer to find out what they’re looking for. Do they want to talk to you, do they want to buy, or do they like to waste people’s time.

Post networking – do you follow up with an email (a private show? A copy of a recent article about you (or that you wrote)?

Tagline For Accounting Firm

We need a new tag line. Our old one is outdated. Originally it was “refer three get yours free” (30 years ago) – then we added “up to $50”, well in today’s market there aren’t too many returns that are under $50.00. We do all types of tax returns, small business accounting, payroll, and QuickBooks set up and instruction. We need a fresh new idea. What do you think?

###

Jay’s Answer: A tagline generally applies to your company, and generally mentions a key benefit you offer your clients. “Refer three get yours free” doesn’t really say much about what makes your company unique other than the rebate aspect. In my opinion, that’s not very strong (despite serving for 30 years). What you have sounds more like a headline for an advertisement.

Unfortunately, you’ll need to “dig deeper” to find those things that make you better/different from the vast number of competitors (both local and online). In general, this is a longer process than an “off-the-top” thinking. It requires conversation with your clients (current and past), studying your competition, etc. It’s the preliminary work of creating a marketing strategy, of which, a tagline (and business name) is one of the last stages (even though everyone wants to jump to the name/tagline first).

Marketing On Cruise Control

Marketing On Cruise Control

If you want to increase your miles per gallon while driving, use cruise control. Let the car’s computer adjust the throttle automatically to keep the speed nearly constant. The computer’s algorithm is simple – if the car’s speed is at or over the target speed, leave the throttle as-is. If the car is going slightly slower, increase the throttle slightly. If the car is dramatically slower, increase the throttle a lot. So, what does this have to do with your business marketing?

Pick a target. Do you know what your business goals are? If you don’t know what you’re aiming for, how will will know if you get there? So, make sure you’ve thought through your business target strategy.

Measure you distance from your target. If your target isn’t measurable, then pick a target that is. You need a simple metric to understand how you’re doing. This is why fund-raising campaigns show their progress with a thermometer (or other graphic). People will naturally help out in various stages of need (to get things rolling, to complete the goal, etc.).

Regularly measure your distance. While it may be tempting to measure your distance when things are looking good, you need to regularly assess your progress.

Track your progress. In addition to keeping track of time, keep track of your actions to achieve your goals. This information will be invaluable for your next effort – you’ll better understand the ROI (return of investment) of your activities.

By putting your business marketing on cruise control, you’ll be more focused on your long term goals than your short-term fluctuations, saving your energy for other things.

Marketing That’s Seen

Marketing That's Seen

Have you stopped to think what marketing you stop and pay attention to? Was it a series of words, a color, an image, a testimonial, or a recommendation by someone you know? That’s why there’s a hierarchy of advertising imagery that you should be aware of (and use for the right reason for your target market).

Hierarchy of Marketing Imagery

Words Only. It’s ultimately the offer that’s in your marketing that sells your product or services. But people are unlikely to read something that’s strictly text unless someone else has told them to read it. Newspapers and magazines make sure to break up long text passages with graphics to draw the eye in. Words alone answer the question, “What’s in it for me?”.

Words and Images of Things. If you want to see a widget, it makes sense to show the widget and tell about it. That’s what you’ll see in a catalog listing and it answers the question, “What does it look like?”.

Words and Images of People. Having people use your widget gives your product “social proof”. If these people are enjoying it, then it would seem that you would as well. This type of marketing message answers the question, “How will it make me feel?”.

Words and Images of People Looking at the Reader. Psychologically, when we see groups of people, we think “pack”. If they are attractive, enjoying themselves, or being rewarded – we want to be like them. But we often think of “us” and “them”. “They” are “the cool crowd”. By having people look at the reader, it allows us to be “seen” and gives us a permission to be part of the crowd. This type of marketing message answers the question, “How can I invite myself into this lifestyle?”

When planning your next marketing effort, pick the right marketing message tool to get the business results you desire.

Tagline for Fashion Jewelry Business

I am starting a new brand of fashion jewelery..The brand is Sanskrithi…i am looking for a nice catchy tagline to attach to it…it should make girls feel beautiful.

###

Jay’s Answer: A tagline is more than a simple phrase to make someone feel something – it’s to help explain what your business can clearly do for your prospective customers. Since your brand name could mean you’re selling anything from jewelry to clothing to food products, your tagline needs to make it clear what you’re selling and to whom. For example, “Fashion Jewelry That’ll Make You Feel Beautiful”.  That’s clearer, but is still quite vague, since that tagline can apply to ANY business that sells fashion jewelry. You’ll need to figure out a lot more details and then brainstorm how that matters.

Help Me Launch My Women’s Apparel Store At a Mall!

How should I go about launching (/opening) of my women apparel store within a mall?

Brand name is Fairy’s – Tagline is ‘wear your magic’ (Location: Pakistan, South Asia)

The location of my store is such that the flow of people is very less in that area of the mall. Usually, brands higher some space in the mall, place a simple counter n shelves in there on the launching day to create brand awareness.I’m planning to do the same but I’m also thinking about involving the public and giving some incentives too. I’m not sure what can i do in terms of announcing incentives. I believe giving discounts on opening wouldn’t have a good impression on customers. So i was thinking to give discount in such a way they may not feel they’re given a discount instead announce a limited time opportunity as in ‘introductory price’. I also want do some activity, place a draw box and giveaway 5-6 dresses. A draw after every hour from 1pm-7pm.

What else should i do in the mall? draw coupons will help in gathering info on building potential customers list but what that activity would be for which they will fill the coupons? Any other innovative ideas?

All arrangements have been done; from branding to decoration. I’d be opening it any day next week.   I have chalked down few launch ideas:

a) hiring a space in the mall, place few mannequins and lace a shelf to hang a few dresses there to display to create brand awareness and location of the store within the mall. (they have this lobby in the mall where such activities can take place)

b) distributing flyers at main entrance of the mall

c) as for pricing I’m not giving any discount but stating ‘introductory prices’ for the first week, term may suggest that the prices would increase after one week (and has built-in discount)

d) after they’ve made purchase, we can ask our customers if they would like to have a cup of tea, coffee or a soft drink and giveaway them a coupon to avail at any  particular food chain within the mall.

What do you say? Is there any need to do more on the day of launch? Any thing interesting or different to stand out in the mall?

###

Jay’s Answer: As I see it, there are 2 things you want to do:

1) Get people who are at the mall to visit your store, and
2) Get people who aren’t at the mall to your store

For (1), I suggest not handing out flyers, nor giving discounts or specials, but instead having a fashion show all day. For example, if you can hire a space in the mall, instead of using mannequins (which are easily ignored), have a raised stage with people doing a small fashion show (like a catwalk). Ensure you have a number of your friends around, and have them sit/stand around the stage. Nothing attracts attention like other people already watching something. The cup of tea, etc. is fine to do year-round, if that’s the sort of business you’ll be running – come shop, sit, stay.

For (2) that’s where you’d want to use flyers. But perhaps better, is to offer a special invitation for people who are at the mall to return another day and bring a friend. Perhaps food & a special (private) show for them. Or a series of shows, around different themes (by age, by special occasion etc.)

Name My Custom Dog Collar Business!

I am starting a new venture for designer dog collars, leashes, and hoping to get into pet beds eventually … I would like to leave the title open to all “couture” for dogs only. My product is of mainly high quality dog collars and leashes made from designer inspired fabrics and also high quality fabrics ~ satin, silk etc. They are handmade and will be geared towards all sizes and shapes of dogs :) I will also be making basic “cotton casuals” as well. But the focus is Elite, Handmade, High quality dog collars … I would like something that is sophisticated yet catchy … maybe a little on the cute side. We came up with: Dressed to the K9’s, Best in Show, The Wagging Tail, Four Legged Flare, The Divine Canine.  But somehow they don’t quite do it for me…YET lol … this is going to be my business for a long time to come I hope, so I don’t want to hate the name in a week :) The name doesn’t have to be fashion related …. something that says my product makes dogs happy and fashionable and stand out!! But related to dogs only!!

A Tagline For A Graphic Designer

I need a tagline. I’m a graphic designer.. My last name is lemon.. I’m easy to work with and very open minded. I also try and get the best price for people.

###

Jay’s Answer: Let’s say someone found your website. Why do you think they might want to hire you?

  • Because your name is Lemon?
  • Because you’re a graphic designer?
  • Because you’re easy to work with / open-minded?
  • Because you have a great price?

The answer is “none of the above”. People want to hire you for what you can do for them (that others can’t do as well). Competing on price is a losing proposition. What people want are graphics that make them money (or help their business in other ways). Your tagline’s purpose is to focus what specific skills/talents you have that would encourage them to hire you.

Your portfolio is a good start (and event better- your testimonials), but what you ideally want to do is position yourself as someone who specializes (either for the entertainment business, small businesses, etc.) rather than someone who can do graphics for anyone for any reason.

So before you can create a tagline, I strongly encourage you to answer some basic strategy questions. For this, I refer you to another Q&A on my blog to help you put on your thinking cap.

If you want my help one-on-one to create a customized marketing strategy, or if you’ve done your homework and want naming help, I’d love to help you. Until then, the best advice I can give you is to focus on the core of your business rather than the trappings.

Real Estate Agent Tag Line

Help, I am a newer Real Estate Agent, just joined a different company. They want to run a half page ad announcing my affiliation. I need some good copy and a Tag line.
I want to stress my attention to detail, my long term residence in our town, knowledge of the town, my desire to help people buy/sell houses where I am completely focused on doing the right thing by my client, without sounding like a complete Pollyanna.
