Tagline for Battery Manufacturer

I’m just starting a new Business of Batteries (Automotive and Inverter) Manufacturing. I have already selected the name  “OXEN” but now confused for Tagline. I wish a shorter and simple Tagline which can be easily Understand by Indian Public. Please help me out.

###

Jay’s Answer:   Because your name already says “We sell batteries”, then your tagline needs to make it clearer who you’re selling batteries to. Given what you wrote, why not make your tagline simply: “Automotive & Inverter Specialists” or “The Automotive Specialists”? The former name is more targeted for distributors while the latter name is better for the general public.

New Candy Business Needs Clever Tag Line

I’m starting my own candy business and the name is called “The Chocolate Tree”. I make the chocolates myself like truffles, cookie pops where the cookie is decorated and baked on a stick. I make lollipops for all seasons and occasions… birthdays, weddings etc. trying to cover all bases with holidays and corporate functions. i make candy bouquets as well.

My business will be run from my home where all the work will be done by myself (for now). I’ve had lots of people saying they love my products and have encouraged me to sell “my works of art” so now i’m trying my best to start a small home business for something i love.

Best Link Structure For Recruiting(jobs) Site

I am start working with one website that allows companies to post jobs on it. So I am start thinking about the best way to structure the data on it. At the moment I really like structure of google jobs section, Kinda like:

%Jobs(or any other keyword)% › %Country% › %City% › %Job category%› %Job Name%

So what do you think about this site structure from the SEO point of view? Because I really want to implement strong internal linking strategy in this project. It will be website that will be focused on job posting in only one Europe country. So I think that the jobs primary need to be sorted by cities right?

###

Jay’s Answer:   If it’s only for one country, then ensure the city + country name are always shown together. That’ll help SEO (for example, search for “jobs in berlin germany”.

The order you’re showing assumes that people are looking for a job in a specific city, rather than focusing on what the job is (“show me all jobs for tech support”) or starting salary (“show me all jobs that pay over ….”).

Rebranding our Green Business

When we named our business, we did not realize how important it is that the name reflect what we do, although in a way it has worked out as we can add other segments under the main umbrella name. We are rebranding our business–have a new GoGreen logo, which is incorporated into a new look for our business cards, stationery, etc.  However, we need some kind of tag line or a “six-word memoir”.

Our product lines are:

1.  Stand-alone air purifiers which remove pollutants from indoor air and permanently and quickly eliminate odors–provides healthier air, relief for allergy and asthma sufferers, removes toxins from household cleaners, sprays, outgassing from furniture carpets, etc., and greatly helps realtors with listings suffering from tobacco smoke, pet odors, etc.  This is done with no chemicals or replacement filters.  The different versions range from pocket size portable for use in the car, hotel room, etc., 1 tiny room like a powder room, 1 normal-size room, dorm room, or small apartment, to one that covers the entire house.  There is even one to wear when flying or in tight crowded places like theaters, doctors waiting rooms, etc.

2.  A counter-top unit that produces instant antioxidant, alkaline drinking water with various pH levels to choose from as well as acidic water for many household uses.  It eleminates the need for disposable plastic water bottles, and many household cleaning products, while providing safe drinking water that more effectively hydrates the body than many other beverages.

3.  A small appliance that naturally pretreats water before it enters the washing machine, making it possible to get clean, sanitized laundry using no hot water, no detergent, bleach or fabric softener, and no chemicals.  It protects the environment by eliminating chemicals from the water and it also prevents skin irritations and rashes caused by detergent residue.

4.  A small appliance that, when installed into your power box, actually helps to conserve energy, protect and prolong the life of electrical appliances and electronic equipment.

5.  We also carry a line of very absorbably, all natural food-based nutritional products.

Our previous taglines were:  “Indoor Pollution Solutions” and  “Indoor Pollution, Wellness, Energy Conservation and Money-Saving Solutions”.   On the back of our current business cards, we say, “We Purify the Air You Breathe, the Water You Drink, the Clothes You Wear and the Electric You Use”.  That, too, is kind of long and still doesn’t reflect the whole story.

Do you have any suggestions on taglines or 6-word memoir that can somehow convey what we in just a few words?

###

Jay’s Answer:  The good news is it’s never too late to improve your business/marketing message.

But if you’re trying to holistically change your rebranding effort, you need to consider the bigger picture. For example, your website is a cookie-cutter website that doesn’t convey the image you’re hoping to present: professional, health-conscious, modern, and effective. The website makes it look like you’re basically a reseller of products, not a specialist in solving wellness issues. By positioning yourselves as specialists, you’re saying “this is all that we do – making your life better” rather than “want to buy what I’m selling?”

Next, you asked about a tagline. Because your business name says nothing about what you sell (or for who), it’s up to the tagline to clearly articulate it. “Indoor Pollution Solutions” doesn’t convey a clear benefit to the reader. “Indoor Pollution” isn’t a problem that most people are thinking they have, so they wouldn’t consider “Indoor Pollution Solutions” something to be remembered. You also have to be careful making any health claims – the FDA is very specific on what you can and can’t say about “wellness and health solutions”.

A tagline needs to convey a primary (and hopefully unique) benefit your customers care about. It’s not about the products you sell – it’s how your products makes your customers feel. For example:

  • Feel Better, Breathe Easier
  • Cherry Hill’s Quality of Life Specialists

Internal Marketing Team Summit

I have been tasked to create the agenda for an all hands internal marketing team summit. I am looking for ideas and suggestions on fun topics, interesting videos, a good book to hand out, team building activities, etc… Do you have any experience or examples of successful agendas, it would be greatly appreciated.

###

Jay’s Answer:   I always start my plan by thinking of what you want to achieve. Brainstorming? Fixing something that’s broken? Starting a new initiative? Creating better internal communication?

The goals of the meeting give a direction to what shape the summit could take – fun and games, targeted tasks, teamwork building, internal appraisals, etc.

Title For A Success Story Campaign

We need a title to go along with our campaign for the year asking internal employees to submit their Achievements recognising their project’s completed. In 2011 we called it “Transcend – Tell us your Defining Moment”. In 2010 we called it “Synergy – Share your Success Stories”. This year our theme is “Evolve – Expanding Footprints, Transforming Equations – Lead the future”. This mailer is for encouraging & inviting employees to write in about their experiences & share their successes & projects (e.g., “Share your success stories” or “Tell us your defining moment”). So for this year on concept of evolve what can we name or call it?

New Name For Gift Basket Business

I’m having difficulty finding the right name for my gift basket business.  It will be gift baskets that will all have some sort of organic tea in each of them.  They will include as much organic, reusable, or recycled materials as possible.  I want something with the word tea in it some how as well as something to include gifts.  I will be targeting the middle to upper class including business to business sales such as real tors, corporations, and insurance companies.  I’d like something that is classy and sophisticated, but still has a fun twist to it. Some of my ideas have been; Serenitea Gifts, Grateatude Gifts, Unitea Gift Baskets, or Tranquitiea Gifts.  Any suggestions?

###

Jay’s Answer:  While you’re focused on the “organic tea in every basket” name, your prospective customers aren’t primarily thinking “Gee, I wonder where I can find a gift basket that includes tea or is full of organic materials”. They are thinking, “I don’t have time to find a gift, and want something unique, affordable, that matches both my sensibilities and that of the person I’m trying to gift”. Your name should align with that goal, rather than “tea” (unless you’re planning to market only to tea lovers and their friends).

So instead of trying to shoe-horn your name into something cute (and perhaps hard to spell/remember), think about the primary need. If you want to set it apart from the other gift basket companies, add another “fun” word. For example:

  • Turquoise Basket Gifts
  • Thanks For The Gift Basket!
  • Pekoe Gift Baskets

Tagline For Biodiesel Making Company

I need help coming up with a 3-5 word title to title the process and benfits of restaurants signing up with a waste cooking oil recycling company that converts it in to Biodiesel. It’s free to sign up while other grease trap service providers may charge them. We service all of Southern California and ensure they are code compliant so inspectors don’t write them up. We collect their grease before it’s too full.

Name My New Jewelry Business

I’m developing a new business name my own name.   I make romantic/Victorian beaded jewelry….everything is custom.  It has a quirky, funky or vintage feel.  My tag line is “Romantic and Funky with a Twist”  .  On the back of my card I have a list of the different types of items I make.  What do you think? Also – what is your take on using your name as the business vs. coming up with a different name.  I’ve been told that you should always use your name.  Is that what you think?

###

Jay’s Answer:   I think that the tagline needs to fit into a larger “branding” issue for your new business: your business name, who you’re trying to attract, and your unique benefit you offer. Your proposed tagline “Romantic and Funky with a Twist” taken on its own doesn’t tell me anything about your offering – it’s romantic (for who? Why?) – it’s funky (as seen by who? Is romantic+funky good or bad?) – and something about a twist (is it jewelry that slithers around the body or something better/different?). While your tagline might fit into your branding (based on imagery, business name, etc.) – on its own, in my opinion it’s not a strong tagline.

As far as “you should always use your name” – it all depends. By using your name, you’re “branding” yourself and avoid the need to file a fictitious business name statement. But if your name isn’t known, why use it? If you want to sell the business to someone else, they’ll have your name for years to come. “Jewelry by LuAnn” could be viewed as a “cute” name or an “unprofessional” name based on your target audience and your positioning (hint: if the average price of your jewelry is $20, “cute” is what you’re probably after – but you may have a hard time transitioning to selling higher-end merchandise with a “cute” name).
