Special Education School Needs Name Annual Fundraiser

Need new name for annual fundraiser for a 501(3)c non-profit private sensory based school that uses occupational therapy and speech/language therapy to support and enhance the academic and social needs of the students. Last years event was Art for Autism — Needs to change for a couple of reasons.

1. Art is not the only thing up for auction.
2. The children range in diagnosis’ including: Auditory Processing Disorder’s, Autism, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Landau Kleffner Syndrome, Epilepsy and more… they all have Sensory Processing Disorder.

The theme of the event may change from year to year, but we want the name to stay the same. Don’t want to use the name of the school in the name, but it could be yada yada yada to help the students of _________. The event is semi formal — appetizers, full bar, dancing, silent auction and live auction for larger items.

Name Our Dental Clinic

I’m looking really hard to find a suitable name for a high end dental clinic. Our portfolio contains B+, and A + patients, we have the latest technology, and we want to maintain our scientific approach, we don’t want to be trendy or hip, please help me to find a fit name for the clinic. we had a small dentist office for 14 years, and its name was the dentist’s name. Like John Black, DDS. Now we have a big multidisciplinary clinic with 4 dentists working, and we are aiming to instutionalize, still one dentist has the ownership but he doesn’t want to use his name for the new clinic.

Patients are still coming for the dentist of course but we want to be recognized by other possible patients preferably A+ segment. We’ve changed our location, and everything, from the design of the clinic and we have all new equipments and staff. We are in Turkey and we want to be sector leader in our city.

###

Jay’s Answer: Because you’re in Turkey, it may be better to pick a name that’s Turkish and/or relevant to your A+ segment. Here are some quick suggestions:

  • Dental Central
  • [CityName] Dental Clinic
  • Healthy Smiles (Dental Clinic)

Reversible Baby Rompers Tagline

I’m starting a reversible baby clothing line and need a catchy tag line. The ‘gimmick’ of the line is that one side is pink and the other is blue, so it can be for boy or a girl. The name of my company is Loopty Lu. Would really appreciate any help! I’m stuck!

Taglines For A Wireless Broadband Tech Provider

We are a wireless broadband technology provider who are about to participate in a major high-profile technology show. We need some taglines in our booth and in our marcomm material. We are the little guys but we have done big things! We are the first to develop the equipment to deploy the first high-frequency wimax network in the world (I know sounds technical but it means a lot to our target audience ;) ) We have invented our own technology and it has been, tested proven and deployed around the world. Our customers would be any internet service provider which would use wireless technology to supply internet to its customers- not cable. With market leaders and big brands surrounding us in the show, such as Cisco and Motorola, we need to stand out with taglines that are striking, confident and memorable.

###

Jay’s Answer: I think you’re looking for slogans to attract attention, rather than a tagline for your company. A couple of ideas to play with: “#1 in WiMAX” and “The Wireless Wizards”.

Need Help Naming My Online Fashion Store

I have come here because I am in need of a name for my online store. I have searched and searched, however I am unable to come up with something unique and creative. I will be mostly selling on my store party dresses, skirts, accessories. The store will be for girls only, however in the future it could change, so something that is unisex and that would catch people attention would be ideal. I also have to consider the domain, so something that is likely to be available is mainly what I am looking for. It could be two words that rhyme, or a misspelled word, or a made up word. The store is online, and I will be selling worldwide.

###

Jay’s Answer: If you’re going to start selling to just girls, then pick a name that appeals to them. Otherwise, you’ll have a name that won’t appeal to anyone.

What age girls? Living where? At what parental income level? Why would they want to buy from you? Do you make them by hand? Are you using special fabrics, patterns, styles?

A name alone won’t attract attention unless it’s aligned with those that are looking for what you’re selling.

Should We Change Our Business Name?

We have had a business for a couple of years, and are really wanting to change the name.  We specialize in complete residential exterior remodel.  Currently the company’s name is CK Remodeling, LLC.  We have been tossing around Aspect Remodel, or Aspect Construction and Remodel, or Rybuild, LLC (which we are considering purchasing).  Amazingly, nothing has really raised any great interest.  Your opinion on the matter?  Should we just stick with our original name?  Thank you!

###

Jay’s Answer:  In general, I recommend keeping a name unless there’s a darn good business reason for changing it (i.e., not simply because you’re tired of it). You’ve presumably spent a couple of years building your “good name”, so changing it means you’ll lose the name recognition.

None of the names you list are noticeably better than your existing name – they don’t add any information to the name that would help understand why people would want to hire your services.

Slogan For 30-year Anniversary Of Football Stadium

We are creating a university football program ad and they’re celebrating the 30-yr anniversary of the stadium and field (Youngstown State University. It’s located in Youngstown Ohio and the team name is YSU Penguins). I have a photo of the opening day crowd that I plan to use, but am at a loss for a catchy and unique slogan. Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
